Grace Baptist Church - Senior Pastor

Ken BassName: Ken Bass

Family:  Wife - Judy; Children - Krista and Kelly

Education:  Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Religion, California Baptist University; Master of Arts in the Old Testament, Denver Seminary; Master of Divinity, Western Seminary.

Personal Testimony:  I was raised in a church-attending home and at the age of 11 accepted Christ as my personal Savior. Because of my profession of faith and because I so desired, I was baptized by immersion and became a member of Rialto Community Baptist Church. God used the members of my church and the camp ministry of Pine Summit to give me His call into full time Christian service in 1970.   In 1981, I was ordained to the ministry at Rialto Communitry Baptist Church.

Philosophy of Ministry:  My life ministry verse in found in I Timothy 1:5. It says, "But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith." God's word is about loving God, letting life start from a pure heart, letting life's walk match our talk and letter our faith be real and based in the full counsel of Scripture. I have committed to sharing God's love, heart and truth with you and ask you to live it and share it with others.

I believe that God brings growth to His church Acts 2:46-47). A Pastor needs to be devoted to prayer and the effective ministry of God's word (Acts 6:4). He needs to equip believers to carry out their God given ministry and he needs to oversee the health of the church. When a church is healthy it will have times of maturing inwardly, developing socially and growing outwardly (Ephesians 4:11-16).

A senior pastor has to be a shepherd that cares for the people of God. He has to be an elder that gives direction to Christ's church and he must be an overseer that provides wisdom in establishing relevant ministry.

What is the most important part of your ministry?   I have a shepherd’s heart and my purpose in life is to experience the fullness of God’s plan for my life, my family, and my ministry and to give away the love and truth that God has given to me.
