Grace Baptist Church - Article VI, Article VII, and Article VIII

ARTICLE VI - PRINCIPAL OFFICERS 

A.  The principal officers of the church are: The pastors, the moderator, the clerk, the treasurer and the chairman of the Deacon Board. 

B.  The moderator is designated president and the clerk is designated secretary of the church for legal functions. When the signatures of corporate officers are required o­n legal documents the president and secretary shall affix theirs. In serving this function they are designated legal agents of the church. 

C.  All officers shall:

    1. Be members in good standing in this church.
    2. Have demonstrated their faithfulness and regular attendance.
    3. Have indicated or demonstrated responsibility.

 

ARTICLE VII - DEACON BOARD 

A.  The Deacon Board shall be elected by the congregation and shall consist of men who meet the qualifications found in I Tim. 3:8-13. The moderator shall be considered a member of the Deacon Board; the treasurer may or may not be a member of the Deacon Board. 

B.  As governing body of this church, the Deacon Board shall:

    1. Be co-laborers with the pastors.
    2. Be responsible for all affairs of the church, spiritual and material.
    3. Provide o­ne member for each church Ministry Team organized under the By-Laws.
    4. Be subject to the will of the congregation.

 

ARTICLE VIII - PASTORAL STAFF 

A.  The pastors must be believers in, subject to, and preachers of the faith as embodied in the Holy Bible. 

B.  The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church, the under-shepherd for Jesus Christ. 

C.  Other members of the pastoral staff may be called as specified in the By-laws. 

D.  Pastoral duties shall be stated in the By-laws and in the written call.
